Calculation method
The production approach consists of summing the gross value added of all industries and subtracting intermediate consumption. The expenditure approach is the value of final consumption expenditure, gross capital formation and net exports of goods and services (exports less imports). And finally, the income approach consists of summing the compensation of employees, consumption of fixed capital, net taxes on production and imports (taxes less subsidies on production and imports) and net operating surplus or mixed income during the accounting period.
